Advertising

  •  Advertising is used for a range of reasons. One of them being to help companies show their product or service to consumers and make them want to buy it. As well as allowing advertising to be funding for other media products.
  • A target market is someone that companies are selling or showing their advert to. As well as this they try tailoring the advert to what the audience will like and want.
  • Advertising is used to show audiences what a company has. They find a point that the product has which is unique to them to primarily centre the advert around, that will generate a response from an audience. This is the unique selling point, the thing that makes it different.  They try to make the advert relatable, short and memorable.
  • Reach is the total number of people that will be viewing the advert, and frequency is the number of times that the advert is viewed by an audience.
  • Agencies spend money on a wide range of things to make an advert. Some of them include: producing the advertising campaign, producing the idea, production and broadcasting the advert.
  • A campaign might fail due to the advert reaching the wrong audience for the product or may not generate a response for the target audience. The advert may also get pulled off air due to it being insensitive or indecent.
